The Pink Buckle at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma is one of those events where you find out what your horses and your program are made of. The 2026 race was no different. The competition was deep, the runs were fast, and the week was long. FullBucket athletes made it one to remember.
Ceri Ward: Nearly $59,000 Across the Board
Ceri Ward did not come to Guthrie with one horse. She came with a string, and she ran them across divisions all week.
In the 2D Derby, she placed in the first go on Slick Swingin Gypsy, a 2018 black gelding by Slick By Design who has been a consistent earner in her program for years, posting a 16.884 and finishing the average with a two-run total of 33.938.¹
In the 2D Futurity she ran Flinging Goodbyes, a 2021 blue roan mare by The Goodbye Lane owned by Shawn and Rikki Moyer, clocking a 16.983 in round one and a 16.880 in round two to finish third in the average at 33.863.¹ She also placed in the Futurity on HP Epic Fame, a 2021 sorrel mare by Epic Leader, running a 17.110 in round one.¹
In the Owner/Rider race she placed ninth in round one back on Slick Swingin Gypsy with a 16.884.¹
A string of horses. A week of runs. Nearly $59,000 in earnings. That does not happen without horses that are ready when it counts.
Dusky Lynn Hall: Youth Average Champion
It's no surprise who our Youth Pink Buckle Champion turned out to be .... the 5-star young gun, Dusky Lynn Hall.
She ran MCM American Angel, a 2021 bay stallion by Tres Seis owned by Dunn Ranch, with a 17.064 in the first go and brought him back to win the average at 34.096 on two runs.¹ She also placed fourth in the Average on Aint Seen Famous Yet, her longtime partner Wally, who had won this same average in 2023 and 2024, finishing with a 34.221 on two runs.¹
In the 2D Derby she placed in the first go on MCM American Angel and came back in the second go on Picassos Private Jet, a 2019 sorrel mare by Blazin Jetolena owned by Triple B Performance Horses, stopping the clock at 16.748.¹ MCM American Angel also placed in the 2D Derby average at 34.096.¹
Her earnings came to over $32,000 across her horses for the week.²
Kit Johnson: $22,590 with Wolverrine
Kit Johnson and Wolverrine have been building toward moments like this all year. The 2020 buckskin stallion by The Goodbye Lane, owned by Mill Iron Livestock, finished second in the 1D at the 2025 Pink Buckle Young Guns and had been stacking up checks at major events throughout 2026.
In Guthrie they placed in the first go of the 2D Derby and finished the 5D Open Average at 34.208 on two runs.¹
The competition tells the story. As Kit put it after the event: “I counted FOURTEEN 16.8s that did not get in the money in the 2nd go Open.” Wolverrine was still bringing home checks. “I love this horse with all my heart and am so very grateful for the opportunities he’s given me.” They closed the week at $22,590 in earnings.²
The Busby Effect
From 2018 to 2024, Busby Quarter Horses accumulated $429,807 in Pink Buckle earnings, more than any other owner on the all-time list.³ Busby-bred horses have won rounds, averages, and championships in Guthrie year after year. The stamp is everywhere in this event.
While Andrea was on the NFR trail, the Busby name was still all over Pink Buckle week. In the sale ring, Jets The Limit sold for $77,000 and Perks From Heaven brought $95,000.
When the market puts that kind of number on a Busby-bred horse, it is because they have seen what those horses do when it matters.
Different Programs, Same Routine
Ceri is a trainer and breeder in Ardmore. Kit runs the Rockin X program in Purcell. Dusky is a 12-year-old competing against the pros. The Busby program is one of the most decorated breeding operations in the country. Every one of them is different.
Probiotic Pellets as the daily foundation, keeping gut rhythm and microbial balance steady whether a horse is at home or on the road. Probiotic Paste on competition days or during antibiotic treatment, when horses need concentrated support on top of their daily routine. Medical Muscle for that deal with tying up episodes or just have a tougher time recovery post-runs, Athletic Formula for performance horses that need digestive and metabolic support to match their workload.
Consistent horses start with consistent care. That is the FullBucket program.

The 2026 Pink Buckle was the kind of week that reminds you why competitors spend all year pointing horses at an event like this. Ceri, Dusky, and Kit each brought something real to Guthrie, and the numbers show it. We are proud to be behind the athletes who make the run.
