Learning The Ropes
From early on, John developed a particular love for design and fabrication. This was no doubt a result of helping his father design, maintain, modify and build farm equipment in the farm shop in addition to helping build barns, fences and catch pens. This translated into a love of functional design and led to his earning of a graphic design major from Auburn University at Montgomery as well as a marketing minor.
After college, John worked for an advertising agency in Montgomery for the better part of 20 years serving as Art Director, then Senior Art Director working on creative collateral in the automotive, real estate and manufacturing markets. During the early years of his tenure, he was instrumental in helping the agency change from analog to digital production during the dawn of the desktop publishing revolution.
